Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Principal, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental disabilities, and other exceptional needs. Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individualized support to students with diverse learning needs
  • Collaborating with teaching staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans
  • Assisting with classroom activities, including academic support and behavioral interventions
  • Participating in pool programs, physiotherapy exercises, and other specialized activities
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care/Worker, or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of related experience working with school-aged children with special needs
  • Valid First Aid certification/CPR Level C
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) and/or Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) training
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience developing and implementing self-regulation and behavior management strategies, knowledge of Ontario Curriculum, and proficiency in educational communication software such as Dragon and Kurzweil are assets.
