Job Summary

The Millwright Specialist will be part of the Maintenance team at Louisiana-Pacific Corporation, responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, assembling, and modifying equipment to maximize uptime, quality, and production. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains, repairs, installs, assembles, and modifies equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Lubricates machinery, replaces seals, cleans parts during overhauls, and performs preventative maintenance to prevent equipment failure.
  • Reads and creates blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Enters work requests and orders parts and materials using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Troubleshoots, adjusts, and repairs equipment as required to minimize downtime and ensure production targets are met.
  • Completes, develops, and improves Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures in the area of responsibility to ensure equipment is properly maintained.
  • Aligns machines and equipment to ensure proper operation and safety.
  • Assembles machines and equipment to meet production requirements.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing and piping systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains airlines, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to support production processes.
  • Performs welding, cutting, and fabricating tasks to repair and maintain equipment.
  • Maintains and monitors equipment using predictive and preventive techniques, including vibration analysis, stethoscopes, strobe lights, and thermal imaging.
  • Trains and mentors apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Actively participates in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintains housekeeping of assigned areas to ensure a clean and organized workspace.
  • Participates in improvement projects to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Performs other duties as required to support the Maintenance team and ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial experience in equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance principles and practices.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, climb, bend, stoop, squat, and lift to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights to access equipment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to collaborate with colleagues and achieve common goals.
  • Time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and writing skills to effectively communicate with colleagues and management.
  • Demonstrated coordination and mechanical ability to perform complex tasks and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Good problem-solving ability to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Intermediate computer skills to use CMMS and other software applications.
  • Willingness to take training courses for trade upgrading to stay current with industry developments.

Education

  • Red Seal Industrial Mechanic/Millwright certification.
