We are in search of approachable and self-assured Security Professionals to serve at various healthcare establishments. This encompasses hospitals, private clinics, long-term care facilities, and more. Our Healthcare management team collaborates with employees to identify a role and location that aligns with their personal circumstances.
This position operates on a 4 on, 4 off schedule, alternating between day and night shifts. To qualify, you must possess open availability without any restrictions.
Working in Healthcare Security can be both physically and emotionally challenging. Security Professionals are tasked with delivering support, empathy, customer service, and ensuring public safety for healthcare staff, visitors, clients, and patients alike. The diverse environments our Security Professionals engage in can be both rewarding and stimulating, yet also demanding. Our leading Healthcare managers provide round-the-clock support for our team members, focusing on proactively reducing risks and addressing incidents with immediate guidance.
A typical day for a Healthcare Security Officer includes:
While your specific responsibilities may vary based on your assignment, you can anticipate performing the following tasks:
- Manage access control to and from the facility, including restricted areas.
- Monitor and respond to incidents detected on the premises, including through surveillance systems.
- Conduct thorough patrols of the facility, identifying risks such as unsecured doors, obstructed entrances/exits, mechanical issues, hazardous materials, and security violations.
- React promptly to alarms and emergency assistance requests.
- Investigate and document any irregularities encountered during your duties.
- Ensure patient safety by monitoring and reporting incidents as necessary.
- You possess strong written and verbal communication skills, outstanding interpersonal abilities, and proven conflict de-escalation techniques.
- You approach conflict resolution with empathy and appreciate the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of individuals.
- You remain composed under pressure and are confident in your problem-solving skills.
- You recognize the significance of confidentiality in a professional setting.
- You are capable of fulfilling all physical requirements of the role, which includes walking up to 20 km per shift, navigating stairs, and managing 30-pound doors.
- You hold a valid AB Security license or are willing to obtain one prior to starting with Paladin Security.
