About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated ECE Assistant to join our team at Little Kingdom Childcare Inc. as a Child Development Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Development Planning: Assess children's development to create personalized learning plans that cater to their unique needs.
  • Childcare Support: Provide assistance with bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Program Development: Collaborate with early childhood educators to design and implement programs that promote children's cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain daycare equipment to ensure a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Storytelling and Engagement: Engage children in activities through storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, fostering their creativity and imagination.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral issues and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Record Keeping: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in maintaining accurate records of children's progress.
  • Staff Meetings: Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and problems, ensuring a collaborative approach to childcare.
  • Cultural Competency: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers, refugees, and Indigenous workers.
Requirements
  • Child development assistant (ECE level 1) certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
