About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated ECE Assistant to join our team at Little Kingdom Childcare Inc. As an ECE Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare centre and contributing to the development of our young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Development and Education
    • Assess children's development to create personalized learning plans.
    • Develop and implement child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
    • Engage children in activities, such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
  • Childcare and Support
    • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
    • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs and keeping records.
    • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports.
  • Centre Operations
    • Maintain daycare equipment and ensure a safe and healthy environment.
    • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and problems.
  • Training and Development
    • Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees.
    • Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
    • Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
    Requirements
    • Child development assistant (ECE level 1) certification.
    • 1-7 months of experience in a childcare setting.
    • Ability to work 30-40 hours per week.
    • Fluency in English.
