About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to our patients.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, packaging, and dispensing medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
  • Compounding of sterile and non-sterile dosage forms
  • Dispensing drugs to inpatients and outpatients in unit dose
  • Working with automation and inventory control systems
  • Medication reconciliation and CIVA systems
  • Preparation of chemotherapy doses and distribution of narcotics

About You

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
  • Licensure and registration in Nova Scotia as a Pharmacy Technician (NSCP) required
  • Drug administration by injection technical permit (Pharmacy Technician) an asset
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • Experience as a pharmacy technician/pharmacy practice assistant, preferably in a hospital, an asset

Hours

Permanent, Full-Time; 75 Hours Bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

Registered Technician: $27.89 Hourly

(Pharmacy Practice Assistants: $26.27)

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
