International Customs Clearance Specialist

Job Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate clearance of international shipments, maintaining compliance with customs regulations, and preparing necessary documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and investigate tariff classification and country of origin for new parts, updating Oracle accordingly.
  • Create and implement customs processes to expand Custom-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) compliance throughout the organization.
  • Audit, correct, and file customs entries and amendments.
  • Prepare and collect yearly USMCA certificates of origin and audit as needed.
  • Ensure customs and shipping documentation is completed correctly and in compliance with regulations.
  • Respond to requests from governmental agencies in a timely manner.
  • Support brokerage service providers with information requests and/or tariff and regulations compliance documentation.
  • Review brokerage invoices with management on a timely basis.
Requirements
  • Licensed Customs Broker designation considered an asset.
  • University or college graduate with studies relevant to Logistics preferred.
  • 7+ years Customs experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to multi-task with minimum supervision.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills: oral and written.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite of Products, especially Excel.
  • Problem solver with strong data manipulation and analysis skills.
  • The ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
