Job Summary:

This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate clearance of international shipments, maintaining compliance with customs regulations, and managing trade documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customs Clearance: Review and process customs entries, investigate tariff classifications, and update trade documentation to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Trade Compliance: Develop and implement customs processes, expand CTPAT compliance, and audit customs entries to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Documentation Management: Prepare and collect USMCA certificates of origin, audit as needed, and ensure customs and shipping documentation is completed correctly and in compliance with regulations.
  • Communication: Respond to requests from governmental agencies in a timely manner and support brokerage service providers with information requests and/or tariff and regulations compliance documentation.
  • Analysis and Problem-Solving: Review brokerage invoices with management, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to optimize customs clearance processes.

Requirements:

  • Education: University or college graduate with studies relevant to Logistics or a related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in customs clearance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel, with strong data manipulation and analysis skills.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Licensed Customs Broker designation considered an asset.
