Position Overview:

Are you meticulous and dedicated to enhancing healthcare services? We invite you to consider a role as a Healthcare Authorization Specialist at Embark Behavioral Health. In this position, you will serve as a vital link between the Authorization Department and various stakeholders, ensuring prompt insurance approvals, effective communication with clients and providers, and adherence to documentation protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Authorization Supervisor to meet departmental goals
  • Guarantee that clients obtain essential certifications for their services
  • Facilitate clear communication among clients, healthcare providers, and the billing team
  • Oversee documentation requirements and suggest enhancements to processes
  • Support the education of treatment team providers regarding documentation practices
  • Engage with managed care organizations and insurance payors
  • Process pre-authorizations and retrospective review inquiries
  • Handle medical records requests and other assigned responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in customer service is essential
  • Familiarity with insurance authorization processes and medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Proficient in Windows-based software and MS Excel
