Position Summary:
As an Automotive Parts Advisor, you will play a crucial role in managing parts orders for vehicle service and collision repairs. Collaborating closely with our Service team, you will ensure exceptional customer service for our valued clientele. This position requires a personable approach as you will engage in consumer sales and expand the dealership's business relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory and facilitate parts ordering in a dynamic environment
- Build relationships with wholesale and retail customers both in-person and over the phone
- Identify customer needs to locate necessary parts or services and recommend additional options
- Monitor inventory levels, reorder supplies, and handle special orders as required
- Assist the Parts Manager in reconciling discrepancies between the computer inventory and physical stock
- Gather information for special orders and ensure accurate sourcing of parts
- Research part availability within the dealership and external sources as needed
- Contribute to a collaborative team atmosphere focused on delivering outstanding service to Parts, Service, and Sales customers
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in an automotive dealership or Parts Department
- Completion of a relevant post-secondary program or training is an asset
- Familiarity with CDK and Star Parts is advantageous
- Comprehensive understanding of Parts and Service operations and inventory management
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Professional demeanor with a commitment to integrity
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and resourceful
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and MS Office applications
- Ability to meet physical demands, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
