Job Summary

Metro Inc. is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Deli Clerk to join our team. As a Deli Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and promoting our products to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Offer product recommendations and promotions to customers to increase sales and drive business growth.
  • Store Maintenance
    • Maintain a clean and organized store environment by restocking shelves, sweeping and mopping floors, and disposing of trash.
    • Ensure that all products are properly displayed and facing forward.
  • Product Knowledge
    • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of our products, including meats, cheeses, and ready-to-eat meals.
    • Be able to answer customer questions about products and provide recommendations.
  • Teamwork
    • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
    • Participate in visual merchandising and store displays to create an attractive and inviting store environment.

Requirements

  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience
    • Previous customer service or retail experience an asset.
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
    • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
