Position Overview:
We are looking for skilled and empathetic therapists with expertise in Creative Arts, Theraplay, and Dyadic Developmental Therapy to join our dedicated team in an associate role.
About Us:
Established nearly twenty-five years ago, Oakdale Centre CiC is a respected not-for-profit organization committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic services tailored to the unique needs of our clients. Our organization is dedicated to providing flexible and bespoke clinical support, ensuring we meet the diverse requirements of our clients and the expectations of our partners.
Our extensive range of specialist assessments includes evaluations for autism, ADHD, and developmental trauma. We offer a variety of psychological therapies for children, adolescents, and adults, with many services funded by the NHS, local authorities, and educational institutions. We also provide private services accessible to the general public.
Adoption Support Services:
This role will contribute to our adoption support services, designed to address the increasing demand for clinical interventions for adopted children and their families, as well as those under Special Guardianship Orders. We also receive referrals from local authorities for clinical support for children in foster care.
Our services are primarily funded through the Adoption Support Fund (ASF), and we have seen significant growth in our team, which now includes approximately thirty-five clinicians, alongside associates who work on a sessional basis. Oakdale Centre CiC is recognized for:
- Providing a flexible and collaborative approach tailored to the specific needs of each client and their family.
- Conducting specialist assessments customized to the child's requirements.
- Employing a Neuro-Developmental Psychology team that enhances our assessments and interventions, including a cohesive assessment process for autism, ADHD, developmental trauma, and attachment issues.
- Delivering BUSS interventions across the country.
- Maintaining a multi-disciplinary team that offers a variety of ASF-approved interventions aligned with clients' specific needs and budgetary considerations.
- Offering appointment availability during standard office hours, as well as evenings and weekends.
- Providing both in-person and remote interventions, including telephone and video sessions, based on client preferences and clinical suitability.
- Engaging in close collaboration with local authority partners and other stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate individual therapeutic sessions with children, young people, and their families.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques to address clients' concerns.
- Assist clients in identifying and navigating emotional challenges.
- Provide clients with coping strategies for managing stress and anxiety.
- Track clients' progress using evidence-based outcome measures and modify treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with organizational policies.
- Adhere to Oakdale's guidelines and the ASF for therapeutic interventions.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications for the therapeutic modality, such as a Master's degree for creative arts therapists or accredited training in Dyadic Developmental Practice.
- Comply with Oakdale's safeguarding and risk management policies to ensure client safety.
- Registration with HCPC, BACP, or a similar professional body, along with appropriate malpractice insurance.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering therapeutic services.
- Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and interventions.
- Excellent communication and active listening abilities.
- Empathy and compassion for clients' experiences.
- Capacity to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
