Culinary Team Member
We are seeking a skilled Culinary Team Member to join our team at Aspira Bolton Mills Retirement Living. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes, and other menu documents.
- Monitor the quality of food supplies received and advise the team leader of any issues.
- Assume responsibility for departmental operations in the absence of the team leader, including menu changes and requisitioning food and supplies.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 minimum education required.
- A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate.
- Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality settings.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence.
- All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check (applicable to Ontario applicants) and Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
Bonus Points:
- Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program and willing to Red Seal certify.
