Culinary Specialist

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a critical role within our communities, this position impacts the lives of residents and ignites the warmth of human connection.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up equipment and supplies for food preparation.
- Prepare meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes, and other menu documents.
- Provide for prescribed diets, at appropriate temperatures, and in portion-controlled quantities.
- Monitor quality of food supplies received and advise team leaders of problems and make recommendations for corrective action.
- Assume responsibility for departmental operations, including menu changes, requisitions, and purchases of food and other supplies.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new team members.
- Grade 12 minimum education required.
- A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate.
- Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality settings.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence.
- All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario) or Criminal Records Check (British Columbia).
- Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program and willing to Red Seal certify.
