Provides continuous respiratory care in a collaborative environment to patients with diverse health conditions, including both acute and chronic respiratory issues, by functioning independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Enhances the quality of life from the perspective of patients and their families. Engages in consultation, collaboration, and communication with other healthcare professionals. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement and best practices in respiratory care. Maintains and enhances personal clinical proficiency. Participates in committees, teams, and approved research initiatives as assigned.

Work Schedule: Days - 07:45 to 19:00, Rotating

New Compensation :
The updated wage is: $ $47.31/hour

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Current certification with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and eligibility for registration with the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) and CSRT.
  • Valid BC Driver's License as required for the specific practice area.

Assessment and Treatment:

Proven ability to conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) through appropriate technical and therapeutic interventions.



Education:
Ability to instruct patients and others both individually and in group settings.

Knowledge Application:
Integrates best practices and current research to inform professional practice decisions and actions.

Communication:

Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, the public, medical staff, and interdisciplinary team members through verbal, written, and electronic means. Demonstrates effective conflict resolution skills.



Critical Thinking:
Proven ability to synthesize and evaluate relevant data from multiple sources to solve problems and make informed decisions. Applies critical thinking and decision-making skills using a systematic approach.

Technical Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including Meditech and Windows-based programs. Proven data analysis skills using appropriate analysis and reporting tools. Proficient in the use of email and word processing. Ability to operate other relevant equipment as required in the specific practice area.
