Senior Estimator for Civil Projects

Position Overview: As a Senior Estimator in the Civil & Infrastructure division at Pomerleau, you will play a pivotal role in driving project growth and redefining industry benchmarks through your specialized knowledge and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preconstruction process, encompassing bidding, cost estimation, and budget analysis.
  • Foster effective communication regarding project progress and updates.
  • Employ your analytical skills to ascertain project-specific costs for essential components such as labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Meticulously interpret technical specifications for bid documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review project business plans, ensuring profitability.
  • Exhibit expertise in risk management to identify potential project risks.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with trade partners, consultants, and clients to realize project objectives.
  • Encourage innovative thinking within your team to devise creative solutions and opportunities.
  • Celebrate project milestones and contribute significantly to the project initiation process.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in estimating within the Civil & Infrastructure construction sector.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or a combination of relevant education and industry experience.
  • Proficient in bidding projects ranging from $1 million to over $200 million.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong passion for relationship building.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly with estimation software, and a keen interest in innovation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Western Canadian market.
