As the Senior Estimation Manager, you will be instrumental in the pre-construction phase, responsible for delivering precise and competitive cost assessments for a variety of projects.
You will oversee a team of estimators and work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed within financial parameters.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the estimating team to create thorough and precise cost assessments for high-rise and ICI projects, encompassing residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial structures.
- Examine project documentation, specifications, and drawings to grasp project requirements and scope.
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and material pricing to ascertain project costs.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to secure competitive bids and pricing for various project elements.
- Employ estimating software and tools to generate organized and detailed estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor proposals and negotiate pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Offer value engineering suggestions to optimize project costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Engage in pre-bid meetings, site assessments, and client presentations as necessary.
- Establish and nurture relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry professionals to enhance bidding opportunities and procurement processes.
- Prepare and present comprehensive cost estimates, budgets, and proposals to senior management for evaluation and approval.
- Work in conjunction with project management teams during the transition from pre-construction to construction phase to ensure accurate budgeting and cost control measures are in place.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in construction estimating, particularly in high-rise and ICI projects.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Bluebeam, Procore, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to interpret complex project documents and specifications.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and applicable building codes/regulations for high-rise and ICI projects.
- A valid driver's license and readiness to travel to project sites and attend meetings as required.
