Type:
Full time

At TMX Group, we are committed to fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Through meaningful partnerships and a flexible operational framework, we support the nation's essential systems, drive capital growth, and empower visionary businesses, while providing our team with diverse career pathways.

As a key member of the HR team, reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Business Partner serves as a strategic advisor to both employees and leadership within designated business units. This role involves offering expert guidance and tailored solutions on a wide range of HR matters.

The HR Business Partner collaborates closely with the HR Centres of Excellence, including Total Rewards, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, and Employee Communications, to implement initiatives focused on:

  • Employee engagement
  • Workforce planning
  • Employee relations
  • Talent management
  • Succession planning
  • Organizational redesigns

In this role, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the business areas to create and execute people strategies that align with organizational goals while adhering to HR policies and programs.

Working in partnership with the Director of Human Resources and HR CoEs, you will support the development, execution, and rollout of HR initiatives and processes, including:

  • Business-specific talent strategies
  • HR consulting and program delivery

It is essential to ensure that the interests of both employees and the organization are upheld in accordance with HR policies and relevant employment legislation. You will provide guidance to managers and employees on various employee-related issues, including performance gaps, development plans, and complaints.

Key responsibilities include managing the year-end performance cycle, leading calibration sessions, and overseeing merit and bonus distributions for your assigned business portfolio. You will also build expertise in TMX's HR policies, programs, and culture to effectively address day-to-day inquiries from employees and managers.

In addition, you will recommend and implement people strategies that ensure leaders meet their strategic objectives while remaining compliant with TMX's policies and programs. This role requires close collaboration with external legal counsel on employment matters and partnerships with outplacement firms, as well as handling employee terminations.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to engage with employees at all organizational levels, including senior executives, demonstrating strong problem-solving and solution-oriented skills. You will also develop positive relationships with HR teams (Total Rewards, Shared Services, Learning, and Talent) to balance business needs with adherence to HR policies.

Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience in employee relations
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience with a focus on client relationship management
• Proficiency in technology, ideally with experience in Google Suite and Workday
• CHRP designation or post-graduate degree preferred
• Strong client leadership skills with a consultative approach
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both English and French
• A collaborative team player focused on building strong relationships and partnerships.
