Job Summary

UHN Bio-specimen Services Program is a centralized, large-scale bio-specimen storage and sample information management group. It serves University Health Network and regional research institutions by providing a central location for access to high-quality samples in order to drive novel research for the understanding, detection, prevention and ultimately the cure of cancer and other diseases.

The Administrative Assistant II will play a key role in supporting the Director and Lab Manager in their daily operations. This includes calendar management, meeting coordination, data entry, and payroll processing. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, tracking staff vacation and sick time, and ensuring the efficient operation of the Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calendar management and meeting coordination

Requirements
  • Completion of Grade XII (12) or recognized equivalent
  • Two to three (2-3) years related administrative support experience
  • Previous on-the-job computer/word-processing, database and spreadsheet software experience
  • Experience in a Microsoft Office environment
  • Experience working in a health care environment, an asset
