We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Specialist of Occupational Health and Safety to join our People and Culture team at BCLC. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping our health and safety program and culture, working closely with stakeholders to ensure a healthy and safe workplace.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement programs, safe work procedures, policies, and training to ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC requirements and promote a culture of safety.
- Build relationships and trust with stakeholders, including people operations, joint health and safety committee, casino health and safety committee, first aid attendants, leaders, and employees.
- Develop and deliver training to leaders and employees to raise awareness of health and safety obligations, including identifying, reporting, investigating, and mitigating hazards, injuries, and near misses.
- Collaborate with the Manager, People Rewards & Wellness to develop and implement a roadmap to enhance our existing safety program.
- Accomplished experience in building health and safety programs, developing policies and procedures.
- Ability to elevate health and safety awareness, inspire others to action, and apply a risk-based approach to everything.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to adapt to various individual personalities and styles.
- Self-starter with strong time management, prioritization, and project management skills.
- Experience with developing and delivering structured training content on health and safety programs using PowerPoint and Articulate360 (desirable).
- Competitive salary range: $82,000 - $128,294 per year.
- Defined benefit pension plan.
- 37.5 hour work week.
