Senior Specialist, Occupational Health and Safety Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Specialist, Occupational Health and Safety to join our team at BCLC. As a key member of our People & Culture team, you will play a critical role in shaping our health and safety program and culture.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement programs, safe work procedures, policies, and training to ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC requirements and maintain a safe working environment.
- Build relationships and trust with stakeholders, including people operations, joint health and safety committee, casino health and safety committee, first aid attendants, leaders, and employees.
- Develop and deliver training to leaders and employees to raise awareness of health and safety obligations, including identifying, reporting, investigating, and mitigating hazards, injuries, and near misses.
- Accomplished in building health and safety programs, developing policies and procedures.
- Effective communicator, able to build relationships and tailor approach to adapt to various individual personalities and styles.
- Self-starter, able to manage time, prioritize, develop, and execute roadmaps while responding to ad-hoc requests.
- Experience or expertise in psychological health and safety and with the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety is an asset.
