About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Roving Building Maintenance Technician to join our team at BGIS. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including mechanical and electrical systems, and performing routine and on-demand maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Troubleshooting and Maintenance
    Identify and resolve issues with facility mechanical and electrical equipment, and systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  2. Client Relations and Administration
    Provide exceptional customer service, responding to client requests and concerns, and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  3. Facilities Operations and Maintenance
    Perform routine and on-demand maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of mechanical and electrical equipment, and systems.
Requirements
  • High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing.
  • Experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance on heating ventilation and air conditioning systems, or pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
  • Sound knowledge of processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and other building systems and equipment.
  • Possesses a strong environmental, health, and safety mindset.
  • Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) & HVAC Systems.
  • Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
  • Mentoring skills required to support lower-level technicians' development.
  • Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby, and emergency call-outs as they arise.
  • Must strictly adhere to Health and Safety policies including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Must be capable of obtaining appropriate security clearance.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
  • Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution required.
  • Power Engineer certification is a strong asset.
