Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installer and Finisher to join our team at 1087937 B.C. LTD. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall in residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish
  • Fills joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets to meet project specifications
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists to ensure stability
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry to achieve a professional finish
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a seamless joint
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages to complete drywall installation
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms to ensure safe working conditions
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to understand project requirements
Work Environment

As a Drywall Installer and Finisher, you will work in a fast-paced construction environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels. You will be required to work at heights, in dusty conditions, and in noisy environments.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation and finishing
  • Ability to work at heights, in dusty conditions, and in noisy environments
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle drywall sheets and tools
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and handle heavy loads
  • Team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
