Job Summary

1087937 B.C. LTD is seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. As a Drywall Installation Specialist, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall in residential and commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Fills joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets to meet project specifications.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists to ensure stability.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry to achieve a professional finish.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a seamless joint.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages to complete drywall installation.
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to understand project requirements.
Work Environment

As a Drywall Installation Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels. You will be required to work at heights, in dusty and noisy conditions, and handle heavy loads.

Requirements
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling to access and install drywall.
  • Hand-eye co-ordination to measure and cut drywall accurately.
  • Handling heavy loads to move and install drywall sheets.
  • Manual dexterity to apply compound and sand seams and joints.
  • Physically demanding to complete drywall installation tasks.
  • Repetitive tasks to ensure quality and consistency.
Education and Experience
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation.
