Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Representative to join our team in Ottawa. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for selling food packaging products to existing and prospective customers in the territory served.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a new customer base through regular prospecting in the territory;
  • Analyze customer needs and provide appropriate recommendations;
  • Meet objectives to increase profitability and growth in the territory;
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends and the competition;
  • Nurture, maintain, and consolidate business relationships with existing customers to build customer loyalty and provide exceptional service;
  • Help customers analyze and identify their needs;
  • Advise customers and make technical recommendations based on their specific needs;
  • Oversee the quote process and collaborate with internal departments on procurement, preparation, and delivery of customer orders;
  • Perform administrative follow-up with customers regarding schedule overruns related to negotiated payment terms;
  • Conduct business development activities to increase sales and the customer base while minimizing risks, losses, and operating costs;
  • Monitor the activity sector.
Workload Distribution

The Sales Representative will spend:

  • 70% of their time developing and prospecting for new customers;
  • 20% developing and maintaining regular customers;
  • 10% on administration (KPI, budget, CRM).

Requirements
  • College diploma in administration and/or sales (or equivalent);
  • Minimum five years' experience in sales and distribution in a related sector;
  • Sales experience in the hospitality sector;
  • Bilingual;
  • Live in the job territory (mandatory);
  • Good knowledge of food packaging products and concepts;
  • Able to work in a computerized environment and use various software (Office Suite, CRM, KPI, Microsoft NAV);
  • Integrity and confidentiality;
  • Excellent business development and prospecting skills;
  • Able to prepare and implement an annual budget;
  • Strong sales and customer service skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Able to identify customer needs and provide appropriate advice.
