Job Summary

The Clinical Resource Nurse is a key member of the Southern Health-Santé Sud team, responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of people-centered care. This role involves assisting with teaching nursing staff, mentoring/coaching nursing staff, developing and implementing best practices, and involvement with research as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Provide education and training to nursing staff on best practices and evidence-based care.
  • Mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to clinical practice.
  • Participate in research initiatives to improve patient care and outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with current active registration with CRNM and the scope of practice as defined by the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Additional certification specific to clinical area of responsibility, such as TNCC, ACLS, or NRP.
  • Completion of Manitoba Nephrology Nursing Program.
  • Knowledge of health care systems and programs.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of professional standards of practice specific to clinical area of responsibility.
  • Minimum of 5 years overall nursing practice.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience in a nursing position relative to the clinical area of specialty/site.

  • Demonstrated ability to use an analytical and inquiring approach to program development and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and make clinical decisions independently.
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population.
  • Proficiency in both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality.
  • Good work and attendance record.
Conditions of Employment
  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.
