Under the supervision of the Director of Health Services and/or the Client Services Manager, the Clinical Practice Resource Nurse plays a crucial role in the following key areas of clinical practice:

  1. Enhancing the Quality of Patient-Centered Care: Focus on maintaining and elevating the standards of care provided to patients.
  2. Educational Support for Nursing Staff: Assist in the training and development of nursing personnel.
  3. Mentorship and Coaching: Provide guidance and support to nursing staff to foster professional growth.
  4. Best Practices Development: Collaborate in the creation and implementation of best practices within the clinical setting.
  5. Research Involvement: Engage in research activities as appropriate, along with performing other related responsibilities as assigned.

The incumbent is expected to demonstrate a high level of initiative and independent judgment in establishing work priorities, selecting appropriate work methods, and addressing unusual situations. This role operates in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Southern Health-Santé Sud, as well as adhering to its policies.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with current active registration with CRNM, adhering to the scope of practice defined by the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Additional certifications relevant to the clinical area of responsibility, such as TNCC, completion of a recognized ACLS course, current BCLS certification, fetal monitoring experience, and completion of NRP as required for the specific unit.
  • Completion of the Manitoba Nephrology Nursing Program.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare systems and programs.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Familiarity with professional standards of practice specific to the clinical area of responsibility.
  • A minimum of 5 years of overall nursing experience.
  • At least 3 years of recent experience in a nursing role related to the clinical specialty would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to cultivate a collaborative interdisciplinary environment that promotes quality services and staff empowerment.
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability to meet the demands of the position.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate within the professional code of ethics, standards, and legislative requirements of the nursing profession.
  • Capacity to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and inquisitive approach to program development and problem-solving.
  • Ability to lead and make clinical decisions autonomously.
  • Respect for and promotion of a culturally diverse population, given the cultural diversity of the region.
  • Proficiency in both official languages is essential for designated bilingual positions.
  • Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role.
  • Commitment to confidentiality across all formats.
  • Consistent work and attendance record.

Conditions of Employment:

  • A valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00 are required.
