Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist I to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Pharmacist I, you will play a critical role in providing safe, effective, and efficient pharmaceutical services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide assessment, intervention, and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems.
  • Oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.
  • Collaborate with members of the healthcare team to develop professional relationships with patients and families.
  • Participate in patient care rounds and contribute to the formulation and implementation of medication treatment plans.
  • Precept and teach pharmacy residents, staff, and students.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
  • Advanced Prescribing Authority (APA).
  • Successful completion of PEBC (or pending results).
  • Recent experience as a pharmacist in a hospital setting providing comprehensive medication management services in a collaborative care model.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven organizational and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrates ability to problem solve and use evidence-based medicine in direct patient care.
  • Demonstrates self-directed learning, initiative, and continuing professional development.
  • Computer literacy for drug information and work processing.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people in a healthcare environment with professionalism and respect.
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking skills and work independently when required.
  • Personal and professional accountability.
