We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist I to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Pharmacist I, you will play a critical role in providing safe, effective, and efficient pharmaceutical services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis.
- Provide assessment, intervention, and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems.
- Oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.
- Collaborate with members of the healthcare team to develop professional relationships with patients and families.
- Participate in patient care rounds and contribute to the formulation and implementation of medication treatment plans.
- Precept and teach pharmacy residents, staff, and students.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
- Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
- Advanced Prescribing Authority (APA).
- Successful completion of PEBC (or pending results).
- Recent experience as a pharmacist in a hospital setting providing comprehensive medication management services in a collaborative care model.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven organizational and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrates ability to problem solve and use evidence-based medicine in direct patient care.
- Demonstrates self-directed learning, initiative, and continuing professional development.
- Computer literacy for drug information and work processing.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of people in a healthcare environment with professionalism and respect.
- Ability to utilize critical thinking skills and work independently when required.
- Personal and professional accountability.
