Facilities Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Attendant to join our team at the City of St. Catharines. As a Facilities Attendant, you will be responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons at various arena and pool locations throughout the City.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to patrons, including answering questions and assisting with their needs.
- Ensure that all public and employee areas of the facility are safe, clean, and tidy at all times.
- Enforce skate and swim program rules and regulations.
- Perform on-ice Skate Patrol and other maintenance duties as assigned.
- Operate assigned equipment, including floor scrubbers, side to side scrubber, power washers, and shop vacuum.
- Set up equipment for regular and special events.
- Report any problems, incidents, or damages to the supervisor on duty in a timely manner.
- Must be available to work 16 to 24 hours per week, including weeknight and weekend shifts.
- Must have own CSA-approved safety footwear, skates, and helmet.
- Strong skating skills and knowledge of safe on-ice practices.
- Ability to work effectively with and for the public in a polite manner.
- Ability to work with a team.
- Ability to perform moderate to hard physical labor, lifting up to thirty (30) lbs.
- Ability to work under limited supervision.
- Valid certification in Standard First Aid and CPR with AED (Defibrillator).
- Proven completion of Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness training.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels. The candidate must be able to work in a team environment and be flexible with scheduling.
CompensationThe hourly rate for this position is $18.25.
