Facilities Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Attendant to join our team at the City of St. Catharines. As a key member of our arena and pool operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patrons, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of our facilities, and performing various maintenance duties.
Key Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service to patrons, including answering questions and assisting with their needs.
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of public and employee areas of the facility.
- Perform on-ice maintenance duties, including assisting with floods, moving nets, and clearing snow.
- Operate assigned equipment, including floor scrubbers and power washers.
- Set up equipment for regular and special events.
- Report any problems or incidents to the supervisor on duty.
- Availability to work 16 to 24 hours per week, including weeknight and weekend shifts.
- Own CSA-approved safety footwear, skates, and helmet.
- Strong skating skills and knowledge of safe on-ice practices.
- Ability to work effectively with and for the public in a polite manner.
- Ability to work with a team and under limited supervision.
- Valid certification in Standard First Aid and CPR with AED.
- Proven completion of Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness training.
This is a part-time position with a maximum of 24 hours per week. The expected work location is various City arenas. The hourly wage is $18.25.
