  • Ensure adherence to corporate guidelines in all tooling and manufacturing activities.
  • Mentor tool makers in corporate protocols to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Guide local management on safe launches of new programs.
  • Notify corporate of potential risks associated with tooling operations and propose solutions.
  • Work autonomously, leveraging experience in manufacturing and program leadership.
  • Plan, coordinate, lead, and engage with multi-disciplinary teams to meet objectives related to tooling, manufacturing, assembly processes, productivity, quality, safety, and delivery commitments to enhance operational profitability.
  • Manage risk effectively to safeguard corporate reputation.
  • Initiate Design of Experiments (DOEs) for new tools and provide formal reports to management.
  • Oversee the efficient layout of tooling and manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with lean methodologies to eliminate waste.
  • Develop and guide detailed requests for quotations from suppliers for tooling and integration of new programs within corporate guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of quotations and present findings to corporate executive management, recommending potential suppliers.
  • Provide strategic guidance for negotiating competitive sourcing of suppliers for new program tooling.
  • Assist in creating detailed purchase orders for suppliers in accordance with corporate policies.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing facility to select a capable team for flawless program launches.
  • Coordinate and manage equipment vendor run-offs against accepted corporate criteria, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and practices.
  • Oversee the development of in-house equipment, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Provide guidance to ensure error-proofing in all manufacturing and operational processes.
  • Stay informed on manufacturing processes, new technologies, and attend relevant training courses, trade shows, and industry conferences as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Take responsibility for personal health and safety by adhering to established safe work practices.
  • Contribute to the development of process flow charts, Control Plans, PFMEA, DFMEA, and prototype builds.
  • Support the creation of a Preventative Maintenance Program for all manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues, refining processes to eliminate defects.
  • Review processing methods and continuously enhance manufacturing techniques to improve in-house capabilities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across all job aspects.
