About the Role

Ganotec, a leading heavy industrial contractor, is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Superintendent to oversee projects in Eastern Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for daily planning, coordination, and execution of projects, ensuring timely completion, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement daily plans for foremen and crew activities
  • Coordinate and plan projects in a particular construction area, ensuring seamless execution
  • Oversee all operations related to a specific discipline/segment of work, maintaining high-quality standards
  • Direct discipline craft supervisors on site, providing guidance and support
  • Conduct daily inspections of work performed, identifying areas for improvement
  • Provide job safety training and awareness for personnel, promoting a culture of safety
  • Establish budgetary guidelines for the job, ensuring cost control measures are in place
  • Develop and maintain quality standards for all jobs, ensuring compliance with company standards
Requirements
  • 8+ years' construction experience, with 3+ years in a Mechanical Superintendent/Leadership capacity (preferably in infrastructure projects)
  • Ability to oversee multiple disciplines, including steel, piping, and mechanical
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes, including Kiewit's policies, procedures, and software programs
  • Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration
  • Fluency in French (written and verbal) is required; working knowledge of English (written and verbal) is considered an asset
