Overview:
This role is accountable to the Director of Asset Management. The Analyst will engage in the generation and evaluation of operational and financial reports, monitor capital expenditures, aid in the formulation of annual operating budgets, consolidate due diligence documentation for property sales/financing, and support various ad-hoc projects as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compile and assess operational data for strategic evaluations by the asset manager and executive team, focusing on lease transactions and returns on capital investments.
- Assist in the development of comprehensive quarterly reports and prepare additional reports as requested by the asset manager, leasing manager, and executives.
- Thoroughly analyze financial outcomes and organize them for presentation in quarterly reports and other stakeholder communications.
- Support the creation of asset plans, along with annual operating and capital budgets aligned with these plans.
- Conduct market research specific to each asset's submarket and provide recommendations to the asset management team based on findings, including market rates and available services/amenities.
- Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and value creation.
- Analyze expenditures, including utility consumption, to uncover potential cost-saving measures.
- Assist with acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and other transactions, coordinating necessary due diligence activities.
- Provide analytical support to asset managers, leasing managers, and executives as required.
- Prepare presentations for committees, Board of Directors, and partners, producing quarterly property and portfolio statistics along with key financial metrics.
- Review all deliverables for consistency and accuracy in collaboration with the asset manager.
- Manage a select portfolio of single-tenant occupied properties.
- Undertake other ad-hoc assignments and responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Client-focused with strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to achieve results in a demanding environment.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong work ethic and ability to perform under pressure.
- Able to cultivate and maintain cooperative working relationships, demonstrating professionalism and flexibility.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Yardi Voyager.
- Experience in real estate or the commercial sector is an asset.
