About the Job

Gauthier Drywall Inc is seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to join our team. As a Drywall Installer, you will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, taping joints, and applying successive coats of compound to create smooth surfaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets to create smooth surfaces
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to create a smooth finish
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for plastering
  • Install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
Requirements
  • 5 years or more of experience in drywall installation
  • Drywall Finisher Trade Certification
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
Work Environment

This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek. You will be working at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, and in a dusty and noisy environment.
