Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our respiratory therapy department, you will be responsible for performing pulmonary function procedures, cardiopulmonary stress tests, and other related duties.
Key Responsibilities- Perform pulmonary function procedures, including spirometry, lung volume determination, diffusion capacity, inhalation challenges, and arterial blood gas punctures.
- Conduct cardiopulmonary exercise studies and complete testing documents and records.
- Assist in the monitoring of pulmonary function and stress testing equipment, conduct calibration and quality control checks, and arrange maintenance and repair as required.
- Participate in the development of department quality assurance programs, coordinate standards with the Diagnostic Accreditation Program, and implement new procedures.
- Provide clinical instruction to respiratory therapy students during pulmonary function lab rotations, as required.
- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care credentialing exam.
- Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Level C.
- One year's recent related experience in an accredited level three pulmonary function lab.
- Ability to organize work and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to operate related equipment and deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
