Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager will lead the development and implementation of the overall maintenance program for the manufacturing and packaging equipment at Pharmascience. Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance and Reliability, this position will collaborate with the plants and business leaders to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the maintenance function to increase machine reliability and reduce downtime.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Develop and implement agile activities, new techniques and methodologies to drive reliability and improvement within the maintenance function.
  • Serve as a change agent for maintenance reliability initiatives by driving cultural transformation and adoption of continuous improvement practices.
  • Promote team work and collaboration.
  • Establish a roadmap, work standards and best practices to eliminate operational waste.
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance systems, processes and procedures.
  • Establish and manage key metrics to ensure maintenance programs are being adequately executed and performant.
  • Optimize reporting tools and methods for operational KPIs. Ensure effective and timely communications for sharing of best practices and key learnings.
  • Manage monthly cost tracking activities to remain on budget and perform employee performance evaluation.
  • As the manager of the housekeeping department, your mission would be to supervise and coordinate cleaning and maintenance tasks in the manufacturing, packaging, laboratory, and warehouse areas. You'll ensure that the spaces are clean, organized, and compliant with safety and hygiene standards.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in a TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) or Operational Excellence Environment.
  • Hands-on experience applying lean maintenance concepts.
  • Exceptional leadership, change management and efficient communication skills.
  • Ability to develop people.
  • Adaptability and ability to handle stress.
  • Knowledge of local and international regulations, Quality and Security systems.
  • Fluent in French and English (written and spoken) as this person will be required to work with suppliers and/or clients located outside the province of Quebec.
  • Competent with MS Office and SAP.
