Operations Assistant Manager

Position Overview
Under the guidance of the Operations Manager, the Assistant Operations Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the management, profitability, and daily functions of Great Canadian Entertainment's dining establishment. This individual brings a proven history of exceptional customer service and a solid background in the hospitality sector, ensuring that every guest enjoys a remarkable dining experience while achieving optimal satisfaction levels. The role involves promoting adherence to all operational policies and procedures, inspiring team members, and cultivating a safe and inclusive work atmosphere.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide effective leadership and development opportunities for front of house staff.
- Oversee the daily operations of the front of house team.
- Ensure compliance with cash handling protocols.
- Assist in maximizing revenue while controlling front of house expenses.
- Facilitate clear communication among team members, back of house staff, and management.
- Foster memorable experiences for all stakeholders, including guests and team members.
- Contribute to the achievement of overall company objectives and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate time and attendance records.
- Evaluate and manage the performance of front of house personnel.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and licensing laws.
- Participate actively in the recruitment and onboarding processes, as well as departmental meetings.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in food and beverage operations management within a premium dining environment.
- Post-secondary education in culinary arts and/or hospitality management, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
- Certification in Serving It Right or the ability to obtain it.
- Proven track record of enhancing the profitability of food and beverage operations.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and capacity to mentor team members.
- Capability to thrive under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining high service standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, and the capacity to work independently.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with experience in financial analysis being advantageous.
- Ability to successfully complete a criminal record check.
- Familiarity with Micros and Squirrel systems is preferred.
Work Environment
- The role involves working in a dynamic restaurant or entertainment environment, requiring prolonged periods of standing or walking and flexibility with non-traditional hours.
