The Account Manager, Custody Services plays a crucial role in providing exceptional Custody Services to private clients, institutional investors, and partners, including portfolio managers, accountants, and various consultants, both internal and external to Scotiabank. This position requires a client-focused individual with a proactive approach to relationship management, serving as the primary contact for account administration, portfolio reporting, and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized and proactive client service through daily interactions, including emails, calls, and video conferences.
- Collaborate with internal support teams to investigate and resolve issues, escalating when necessary.
- Oversee account openings and maintenance, ensuring the review and validation of client documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements (AML/QI/FATCA/CRS).
- Manage the administration of deposits, contributions, withdrawals, trades, and foreign exchange transactions with precision and efficiency.
- Identify business opportunities and operational efficiencies that emerge from the daily management of client accounts.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, client-centric environment to strengthen relationships and leverage cross-Bank opportunities.
- Foster a high-performance culture and contribute to an inclusive workplace by acting as an indirect people manager and subject matter expert.
- Implement the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture in daily activities and decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services sector, with a focus on securities administration.
- Strong proficiency in end-user computer applications.
- Demonstrated ability to represent a business by delivering exceptional service.
- Capability to utilize available resources to provide effective client solutions.
- Commitment to accuracy and efficiency in a dynamic work environment.
- Proficiency in Spanish is considered an asset.
