Job Summary
Mackenzie Health is seeking a highly skilled Physiatrist to join our team as a Specialist in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing consultative assessments and developing rehabilitation plans for patients with musculoskeletal issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation consultative assessments of patients in the high-intensity rehabilitation program and on an as-needed basis on LTLD, CCC, and Medicine programs at Mackenzie Health Richmond Hill Hospital.
- Address musculoskeletal issues such as pain, deformity, immobility, and other physiatric barriers limiting progression within a rehabilitation program, candidacy for a rehabilitation program, or other disposition.
- Work closely with other Mackenzie Health Physiatrists to negotiate cross-hospital consultation or coverage if necessary. Opportunity to provide support for MSK consultations at other sites depending on consultation volumes.
- Collaborate with community partners to support hospital pathways for small numbers of patients in other physiatric populations (amputee, stroke, SCI).
- Participate in meetings and committees as required.
- Perform duties and responsibilities as agreed upon by the Division Head.
- Perform duties and responsibilities outlined in the Hospital By-laws, department, and division rules, and applicable policies.
Requirements
- Medical degree approved by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) required.
- Postdoctoral training in physical medicine and rehabilitation residency required.
- Canadian Medical Protection Association (CMPA) in good standing.
