Position Overview

We are seeking a Principal Backend Software Engineer who is recognized as a trusted advisor and a reliable contributor by peers, leaders, and stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of software development experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of design principles and their impact on software maintainability, performance, and availability
  • Experience articulating best practices in systematic software development, including requirements gathering, design, testing, debugging, and maintenance
  • Proficiency in writing, analyzing, and debugging code across various programming languages
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a solid grasp of data structures and algorithms
  • Knowledge of computer networks, protocols, security, and data transmission
  • Commitment to software privacy and security through secure coding practices and threat mitigation
  • Experience with parallel and distributed computing
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Strong communication skills to convey insights and expectations across diverse teams and time zones
  • Ethical and pragmatic approach to computational theory, balancing automation and human involvement

  • Creative problem-solving mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
  • Leadership experience in managing development teams
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
  • Background in education, finance, or healthcare sectors is advantageous
  • Active GitHub profile or contributions to open-source projects is a plus
  • Experience in innovative technology development is a plus
