The Role

We are seeking Senior Backend Engineers to expand our engineering team and help us continue to grow our product. As a key member of our high-performing backend team, you will work on building technology for technologists, supporting a fast-growing developer tool. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and testing features for our high-performance backend and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, implement, and test features for our high-performance backend and infrastructure, adhering to a Test-Driven Development (TDD) mindset.
  2. Collaborate with a Product Manager, Designer, and other engineers to ship in a quick-moving, iterative environment, balancing speed with maintaining a high bar for code and product quality.
  3. Contribute to improving product effectiveness and quality, team velocity, and continuous deployment capabilities.
  4. Provide mentorship to junior engineers on your team, helping them grow in their technical responsibilities and removing blockers to their autonomy.
  5. Assist in troubleshooting product operations, security operations, and urgent engineering issues.

Requirements

Your Background

  1. A proven track record of building highly performing, high-quality, event-driven backends.
  2. Expertise in building cloud-based backend applications with a microservice architecture.
  3. Demonstrated skills and experience in diagnosing and resolving issues and performance bottlenecks with event-driven, microservices-oriented backends.
  4. Demonstrated expertise in high-quality Python code.
