Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commodities Manager to join our team at Loblaw Companies Limited. As a key member of our commodities team, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our procurement processes to drive cost savings and improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Management
    • Review and analyze supplier-proposed cost changes to ensure alignment with our business objectives
    • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate cost increases and drive cost savings
  • Procurement and Sourcing
    • Lead the procurement process for commodities, including negotiation and contract management
    • Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
  • Process Improvement
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
    • Develop and maintain metrics to measure procurement performance and identify areas for improvement
Requirements
  • Education
    • University degree in business, economics, mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience
    • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, commodities management, or a related field
  • Skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
