Job Title: Sustainability Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainability Intern to join our team at McCain Foods. As a Sustainability Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our efforts to reduce our environmental footprint and promote sustainable practices throughout our operations.

Job Summary:

The Sustainability Intern will assist in researching and analyzing data to identify opportunities for improvement in our sustainability practices. You will work closely with our Agronomy, Field, and Production staff to develop and implement sustainable practices, and collaborate with growers to promote regenerative agriculture.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on regional best practices for regenerative agriculture development and support their adoption with growers
  • Assist in the development and implementation of sustainable practices trials at our research farms
  • Analyze data and report sustainability metrics to inform decision-making
  • Develop and maintain relationships with growers, governmental agencies, ENGOs, and research organizations across our NA growing regions
  • Support the analysis and determination of cost of production impacts from sustainable practices adoption
  • Statistical evaluation of best practices and data trends
  • Promote relations between the company and growers through periodic farm and storage visits
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Agronomy, Ag Economics, Business Management, or a closely related field
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-reliance and resourcefulness to work smarter, not just harder
  • Valid driver's license and comfort driving a full-size pick-up truck
