Job Summary

Mackenzie Health is seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Integration Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting technical integrations and applications for our hospital sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hospital stakeholders to evaluate business needs and gather requirements for technical integrations and applications.
  • Work closely with internal and external teams to promote interoperability between hospital systems and platforms.
  • Provide specialized technical and business knowledge to projects, contributing to the development, maintenance, support, and optimization of hospital integrated smart technology systems and devices.
  • Lead and work with internal and external teams on all phases of application lifecycle, including requirement gathering, analysis, solution design, implementation, integration, testing, support, and maintenance.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Follow best practices for solution development and testing to ensure high-quality products.
  • Assist in evaluating new products, solutions, and technologies to test feasibility and performance.
  • Monitor and assess technical risks, exploring options and consulting with internal and external parties to resolve complex issues.
  • Create design and implementation documents, user manuals, training materials, support, and operational procedures.
  • Lead, participate, and contribute to change management, user education, and service transition processes.

Requirements

  • University degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in IT and/or healthcare industry.
  • Extensive experience in implementing, supporting, and maintaining large-scale and complex systems in healthcare.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of interface and integration methodology (HL7, SOAP, Web Service, DICOM, FHIR, database (SQL or Oracle), and programming languages (PHP, C#, Python, or Java).
  • Working experience with EMRs, interface engines, clinical applications, and device integration.
  • Working experience with integration of cross-functional applications between different business units and systems.
  • Working experience with RTLS Systems, Vocera, Cetani, Nurse call systems, and mobile devices.
  • Good understanding of risk management, privacy, e-safety, and quality assurance methodologies as they relate to integration/software engineering.
  • Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills and presentation.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
