Insurance Claims Expert, Intact Public Entities

About the Role
At Intact Financial Corporation, we're committed to providing comprehensive insurance solutions to our clients. As a Claims Consultant, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our municipal and community service organizations are protected.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and support to claims and underwriting functions to deliver unsurpassed value-added services.
- Assist in the settlement of large and complicated claims files, ensuring compliance with company standards and policies.
- Develop and implement quality assurance activities to improve claims processes and personnel.
- Provide training and guidance to claims professionals on claims management and coverage analysis.
- Engage in special projects to examine the Claims function and develop ways to improve processes and personnel.
- Conduct periodic audits of claims files to ensure compliance with company standards and report results to management.
- Lead the development of technical claims training programs, assessing needs and making recommendations.
- Provide consultation on large and complicated claims files, including technical guidance and advice to staff.
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in claims management, including casualty liability and property.
- Litigation experience is an asset.
- Technical expertise in claims management and extensive experience in coverage analysis, investigation, and quantum evaluation.
- Experience and/or knowledge of Alternate Dispute Resolution.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented and flexible with the ability to work in a constantly changing environment.
