At BMO Capital Partners, we are seeking a dedicated and driven individual to join our investment team. The Associate position is crucial for collaborating with senior investment professionals to identify, assess, and execute various investment opportunities.

Founded in 1998, BMO Capital Partners is a prominent Canadian investor managing C$1.5 billion. Our investment strategy focuses on minority equity co-investments, subordinated debt, and a diverse range of fund investments, targeting companies at various growth stages. Our investment teams across major Canadian cities have successfully invested over C$1 billion in the past five years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate direct equity investments, fund opportunities, and subordinated debt.
- Participate in the planning and execution of comprehensive due diligence processes.
- Develop and refine financial models, including LBO models.
- Prepare investment committee presentations and documentation.
- Assist in the negotiation and review of legal agreements.
- Monitor and assess the performance of portfolio companies, including quarterly valuations.
- Foster relationships with Private Equity, Growth Equity, and Venture Capital firms.
- Collaborate with colleagues across BMO Financial Group, including Canadian Commercial Banking and Capital Markets.
- Analyze investment trends and formulate investment theses.
- Support special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Venture Capital, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of capital structures and principal investing.
- Proficient in Excel with excellent financial modeling capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions independently.
- Experience working in collaborative deal teams.
- Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CFA, CPA, CA, CBV designation, or MBA.
- Experience in conducting thorough due diligence.
