We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welding Instructor to join our team at NAIT. As a Welding Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in our Welding Apprenticeship program.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver curriculum for welding courses, ensuring that students gain the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the industry.
- Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory, and industry setting.
- Participate in curriculum development, program reviews, and course reviews to ensure that our programs remain relevant and effective.
- Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials.
- Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment.
- Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records.
- Provide early and ongoing coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention.
- Respond to student issues and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications, and program promotions.
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
- Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT's Strategic Plan and NAIT's Academic Plan as identified by the institute.
- Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement.
- Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities.
- High School Diploma
- Completion of a Welding Journeyperson certificate, B Pressure and Inter-Provincial Red Seal required
- Welding Automation training and experience would be an asset
- Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticket
- Teaching experience an asset
