Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Officer to join our team at the Native Women's Association of Canada. The successful candidate will assist with project activities as part of the Walking the RED Path project, addressing HIV and HCV among Indigenous women in federal correctional facilities in Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in project research activities, including reviewing research, literature, and reports.
  • Prepare presentations, materials, resources, and reports using qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Apply a culturally relevant gender-based analysis to all project materials and tools.
  • Develop project instruments, communications plan, monitoring and evaluation plan, and knowledge translation and dissemination.
  • Collect and analyze data.
  • Travel to project locations when required.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in health sciences, social sciences, or related studies, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills in plain language and academic styles.
  • Ability to work in a team and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous Peoples in Canada's cultures, histories, and traditions.
  • Familiarity with implementation research and social determinants of health.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum two years' experience working/volunteering in Indigenous women's health, social programs, or correctional services.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
