Job Summary:

Pembina Trails School Division is seeking a highly skilled Educational Assistant 2 (EA2) to support students with diverse needs and abilities. As an EA2, you will work collaboratively with school administrators and other professionals to promote inclusive practices and foster engagement in the learning environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with behavioural and learning challenges in a classroom, small group, and individual settings.
  • Provide academic support and deliver specialized or adapted programming to students under the direction of the classroom teacher and resource teacher.
  • Document students' specific program performance and provide supports for students with challenging educational needs.
  • Supervise recess and lunch duty, as well as the swim program.
  • Administer student medication as determined by the student's U.R.I.S. plan.
  • Support students in community-based programs and facilitate the transport of students between education sites.

EA2 Specific Duties:

  • Diapering and assisting with or providing for personal care needs.
  • Providing toileting assistance to students.
  • Lifting and assisting with transitional movements and mobility training.
  • Administering health care procedures, including gastronomy feeding.
  • Utilizing specialized devices and equipment.
