Job Summary:

Pembina Trails School Division is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant 2 to support students with diverse needs and abilities. As a key member of our educational team, you will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to promote inclusive practices and foster a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with behavioural and learning challenges in a classroom, small group, and individual settings
  • Provide academic support and deliver specialized or adapted programming under the direction of the classroom teacher and resource teacher
  • Document students' specific program performance and provide supports for students with challenging educational needs
  • Supervise recess and lunch duty, as well as assist with the swim program
  • Administer student medication as determined by the student's U.R.I.S. plan and support students in community-based programs
  • Support students' emotional, behavioural, and physical needs, and be flexible in adapting to students' educational programming
  • Use augmentative and alternative communication and facilitate the transport of students between education sites

Additional Responsibilities for EA2 Role:

  • Diapering and assisting with or providing for personal care needs
  • Providing toileting assistance to students and lifting and assisting with transitional movements and mobility training
  • Administering health care procedures, including gastronomy feeding, and utilizing specialized devices and equipment
